Multiplication of 3 and 2 digit numbers [ METHOD 1]
By using four simple steps and we can find result.Let we have to multiply abc X de
STEP 1: Multiply 1's digit together.i.e c X e
STEP 2: Cross Multiply and add them.i.e b X e + c X d
STEP 3: Again Cross Multiply and add them.i.e a X e + b X d
STEP 4: Multiply 100's digit of first given number and 10's digit of the second given number. i.e a X d
Note that to carry whenever a product exceeds 9.only the leftmost part can have more than one digit. For the rest of the parts, we need to carry over the number preceding the units digit, to the immediate left part , and add it there respectively.
Lets see some examples:
Example 1: Find out 334 X 43.
STEP 1: Multiply 1's digit together i.e(4 X 3)=12 [put the 2 as the 1's digit answer and carry 1 ]
STEP 2: (3 X 3 + 4 X 4 + 1)=26 [put the 6 as the 10's digit answer and carry 2 ]
STEP 3: (3 X 3 + 3 X 4 + 2)=23 [put the 3 as the 100's digit answer and carry 2 ]
STEP 4: (3 X 4) + 2=14 [ 1000's digit answer]
STEP 5: Combine them 14362 is the answer.
Example 2: Find out 525 X 32.
STEP 1: Multiply 1's digit together i.e(5 X 2)=10 [put the 0 as the 1's digit answer and carry 1 ]
STEP 2: (2 X 2 + 5 X 3 + 1)=20 [put the 0 as the 10's digit answer and carry 2 ]
STEP 3: (5 X 2 + 2 X 3 + 2)=18 [put the 8 as the 100's digit answer and carry 1 ]
STEP 4: (5 X 3 + 1)=16 [ 1000's digit answer]
STEP 5: Combine them 16800 is the answer.
Multiplication of 3 and 2 digit numbers [ METHOD 2]

STEP 1: Multiply 3 digit number with the 10's digit of 2 digit number and put 0 at end.i.e abc X d=abcd,abcd0
STEP 2: Multiply 3 digit number with the 1's digit of 2 digit number.i.e abc X e=abce
STEP 3: Add STEP 1 and STEP 2 together which is the final answer.
After doing 5 questions,don't use the paper to calculate this type of calculation.You solve all the calculation in your brain.
Lets see some examples:
Example 1: Find out 334 X 43.
STEP 1: 334 X 4 = 1336 and just put 0 at end i.e 13360
STEP 2: 334 X 3 = 1002
STEP 3: (13360 + 1002)= 14362
Example 2: Find out 525 X 32.
STEP 1: 525 X 3 = 1575 and just put 0 at end i.e 15750
STEP 2: 525 X 2 = 1050
STEP 3: (15750 + 1050)= 16800
